rbitime ...

For what it is worth ... coming from the mother of a former UC Riverside pitcher, who is herself an alum of UCR and whose husband was born and raised in Riverside ...

Just like any city, there are nice places to live and not nice places to live. I am sure the doctors and professional baseball players and lawyers and University professors who call Riverside home would be more than happy to show people the "nice" parts of town.

As for attending and playing baseball at Riverside Community College ... how can you go wrong with one of the best and most respected JUCO coaches in the country? And for those who don't know it, Dennis is the Manager of the Vancouver Canadians, the short season low A affiliate of the Oakland A's. He is a wonderful coach and does definitely seem to care about the young people around him. When our son faced his pro team earlier this summer, he spent quite a bit of time chatting with our son the next day. He told our son that he personally called our son's UCR pitching coach to tell him how well our son had done. You don't find that in a lot of coaches these days.

Good luck at RCC !!!!!
