Well something I read on this web site today kicked up in me a memory from way-back I'd like to share. Maybe you've seen similar things.
Mid 70's; playing a Legion tourney in Colo. On the other team was a centerfielder with probably more talent than anyone I've ever shared the field with. Cannon arm, speed of a gazelle, tremendous swing... very long, red hair.
Well the game is moving along and he catches a long fly ball to end the inning. Instead of bringing the ball in and flipping it to the ump or mound he leaves the ball at the base of the fence in CF.
First the ump and then his coach ask him to go get the ball. He says, 'you want the ball, go get it yourself.' Ump kicks him out of the game; his coach approaches him to reprimand him and he strips off his jersey, hops the fence and hitchhikes home. It was weird to say the least.

This may be above your intelect being from the Wrong Coast and all TR, but grammar is a way to express ourselves in the English language.

A snipit for you.

"Grammar is the structural foundation of our ability to express ourselves. The more we are aware of how it works, the more we can monitor the meaning and effectiveness of the way we and others use language."

There is more information here if you are interested.

Intellect originates in the northeast. Just ask my mother. My daughter is a college senior in the south. My mother said she hopes my daughter goes to law school at a real university in the northeast. I told my mother if she unless she plans on getting upset learn how to clap her arms together in the likeness of an alligator.
