First off let me start off by saying we lost last night so we have been eliminated from regional play.Finished 16-15 on the year(varsity)

Today, the head coach was talking to the freshman about their status on the team.He had told everyone that they might not like what they hear.A few friends got cut and I feel bad because they are good people.
Anyway he told me that he sees me as one of his players that could be the bulk(he said 3-6) of his order in the future. He also told me that he likes the way I work with our pitchers more so then my competition. Not much negative was told to me,just to get stronger, have my blocking down 100% by the year, and to get my arm stronger. He also told me he was pleased with my arm strength and catcher developement this year.

On top of all this he said some coaches had nominated me for an honerable mention as the 06 best freshman prospect(never heard of the award but apparently some guys who have been drafted have won this award)

Its been a good day, just wanted to share!

I totally agree. How about those kids that will work their butts off over the summer and winter and gain weight, strength and ability? It doesn't make any sense what the coach did and there is really no downside on waiting to make his cuts next year. The only thing is that he may need to get his squad size down for the summer league if they have one.
He cut 2 guys.Believe me its not one of those cases. They werent hard workers, never even played at JV,and were very very lucky to make the team in the first place. They just dont care about playing ball or anything. He knows, everyone on the team knows they wouldnt pan out,and they know it.

He kept the guys who are willing to work and have a potential spot on this team for the future.Believe me,it was the right thing to do.
I back up my coach 100%, if you actually knew all the details of the story you would agree
