Getting ready for February college baseball in the northeast.
I see so many different advertised windproof and waterproof blankets for spectators. Anyone have a particular brand that they would strongly recommend?

Get one of those tents that go over your chair with clear windows. I’ve seen people use those

We finally settled on waterproof sleeping bags from a camping store (which we've been known to virtually disappear into) to watch games in the northern states in March. Actually had a snow delay during a game last year...not my favorite month for baseball.

Someone recently told me the NCAA rule is to stop the game at 25 degrees. I would love to know how they came up at a number 7 degrees below freezing.
Coaching 1st base is a nightmare too LOL. Go to Patagonia’s website you’ll find everything you need. Don’t forget the balaclava.

My recommendation would be streaming!
I made my own blankets out of double weight fleece and had the team logo monogramed on it. It was a Christmas gift one year to all the family.
I bought a great long down coat with hood from Eddie Bauer. Never was cold in it.
For my hands, I have sheep mittens I got in New Hampshire 40 years ago and my hands were never cold. Something like this:

Then I saw someone in a down sleeping bag and wish I had invested in one!
Son's last year of college ball we bought two see through umbrellas! Totes makes them.

Wool army blanket. not soft, but warm and wind/wet proof. Get them at Army surplus. Cut a hole in it and you can wear as a poncho.
PS. 300 years of use by military, so I'd put my money on it vs. some outrageous claim on facebook.
I have a heated vest. It's been a real "game changer." The battery lasts about 4 hours - I've got two batteries to get me through a double header. This company also sells heated seat cushions, muffs, gloves, socks. I'm thinking about getting the socks because I have a real hard time keeping my feet warm.

Sleeping bags in the stands for the win. A parent put us onto that idea back when my son was 11. It's not too often in Texas you need one, but last February, to start the season it was cold and the wind was blowing. Went over to Walmart and grabbed a couple. Came back to the game and got into them. Next thing we know a bunch of parents left and came back with them. The next day, 75% of our stands were sitting in sleeping bags for our evening game.

I picked up the Dagmi blanket. It's thinner than it appears in photos but seems to be well made. No apparent quality issues in the manufacturing or packaging. In about a month, unless something happens unexpectedly with the weather, we will be testing it out.
