Stats do not get you recruited.

Filling out a questionnaire also does not get you recruited.

But fill the thing out so that your sons info gets in their database.  Most big schools have pretty impressive software that keeps track of everything related to a kid.  Obvious stuff like bio info, but also they keep track of every piece of communication, links to player websites, links to video, etc.

In my opinion, he should reply to show the interest.  As Rich says, they track all sorts of info these days. He should fill it out as best as he can, they know that at this early stage he doesn't have any stats.

Ignoring the request for info could be seen as a negative.

There is information on the back of the form for a coach to fill out and that's why I was thinking about having him wait to complete it.

Reinforcing the above, keep in mind that questionnaires are "one size fits all," and they're intended to collect the lion's share of what each program considers important. As a result, it's not unusual for them to include data that can't be expected to be available for players who are early in the process.

Coaches understand this as well or better than anyone; so, always fill out what you can and send it in with a note explaining why certain information is omitted. Then, when far enough along to provide more, send that into them.

Recruiting is a cumulative process. No reason why the information provided can't follow along in that way.
