Hello everyone,

I am a junior from Seattle, Washington that has just started the recruiting process. I am interested in playing for a D3 school, in any region. I have only sent out emails to a handfull of coaches, and I have been using this recruiting video:

Things I want to change are adding in better hitting videos, with more angles. Please let me know what you guys think.

I personally thin it should be shorter. Cut down on the number of balls you take at short that don't show the ball thrown. Do maybe 2 of those ones and the rest show the throw. The angle showing the throws is a little weird to me, might be better if its from home plate area and not so low. Hitting at the beginning is good, ideally would be better without the mat and a real plate but not a big deal. Most important, TURN THE MUSIC OFF. That and shortening are two main things. Also not really a fan of including HS stats as level of play varies so much. Solid league in SoCal or Texas is incredibly different than a bad divsion in Montana or something. Not bad overall though

You did a really good job of following the recommended format for recruiting videos - a vitals page, some swings, fielding, turns, angle from behind some throws and some live game action.  It is too long - should probably be around three minutes.  Yes, you should probably kill the music (although I've certainly heard worse).  And the ground ball reps looked like mostly high soft hops.  It would be nice to see some more standard ground balls so the coach can see better footwork and hand action.

You have proven that you can put together your own, which is a big step and I know it is a lot of work.  So, just take the format and clean it up some.  Also, you look like a player who is about to take a jump and get stronger.  Be sure to replace old footage as you continue to improve.
