Freshman at a CA. JC. Player has played in 3 games that are non conference games. Started in one game. Can he still red shirt this season? I am not referring to a medical red shirt.
Rick at Informed Athlete will give you an accurate answer, but I believe if he practiced and played in official games then he is limited in his options as far as red shirting. Since the semester just started he might be able to only take less than 12 units but I am not an expert in this area.
It's too late for the player to redshirt if he's played in any games this Spring. Any amount of competition during the season counts as a season of eligibility used.
