Manny wants out. Wells wants out. And now Theo Epstein resigns. I guess this just goes to show you have to enjoy success to the fullest because it may not last very long. As I recall, the last time a John Henry team won a world series it didn't take long for things to fall apart...
I'm not out of order! You're out of order! The whole freakin' system is out of order! You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't HANDLE the truth!

KREMER

It had nothing to do with money--he walked from 4.5 million for three years

In my mind it is the fact the the owners are not baseball people, they are business men first and they have huge egos themselves--- call it power struggle-- Theo never got full credit and always full blame for a wrong deals--the boss wanted to be in full control

Hope everyone is sitting down...

I agree with TRHit on this one.
My prediction,

The Mets will hire Epstein.
On his first day of work - he will accidently bang his head on the door overhang.

He will then proceed to make three deals.

He will coax Mo Vaughn out of retirement - 3 year deal at $45 million.
He will resign Jose Offerman - 5 year deal - $11 million per year.
He will extend Trachsel's contract for another 20 years - at $6.5 million per year.

The Mets will then proceed to lose 103 games in 2006.

Lets Go Mets!!!
i'd like to see theo go to the phils as well, but it looks like their gonna sign pat gillick today or tomorrow since LA is chasing after him. However, they might back out and go after theo now. I read something on ESPN that theo may be interested in LA's job anyway. I thought philly was gonna grab hunsicker, but apparently after interviewing the 5 candidates they liked gillick the best. But on theo epstein, he deserves to be paid what hes worth. I mean afterall he was a huge part in reversing the curse.
