I got asked this question the this morning and it sounds so simple but for the life of me I am not certain.  HS reentry applies.

Starting pitcher gets severe cramping in his calf while on the mound and could not continue.  Umpire grants the new pitcher unlimited time to warm up and subs in a bench player for the pitcher.  1 inning later the starting pitcher reenters into the field.  Is this legal?  Can a injured player reenter?

Any starter, including the DH, has re-entry rights. They are allowed one time. As Dash says if he has a reentry available then yes, just not as the pitcher if the relief took more than eight warm-ups. The exception to an injured player returning is he can't if he was removed for concussion symptoms. To return he has to be cleared medically first.
