I'm sure this won't be much of a thread but thought maybe somebody would be interested in what should be a great game Thursday at 5pm at Hooker Field in Martinsville. Hidden Valley (18-4) vs Tunstall (19-1), what should be Ryan Lauria (U of Louisville) vs Luke Simpson(Longwood). After that Bassett will take on Cave Spring.

well it wasn't pretty, but it was an exciting game. this article sums it up pretty good. btw, the kid with the hurt arm has a nasty curveball and threw it almost every pitch the last inning.

In seven innings. Tunstall's Luke Simpson walked five and struck out four batters, while hitting two more. He threw 70 strikes and 135 total pitches.
“My body was tired in that last inning,” he said. “I couldn’t get my pitches down. I ended up making it through the inning, but they tied the game. And then my guys picked me up in the eighth inning.”
I bet he was tired after 135 pitches in 7 innings. Again, VHSL needs to look at a combo of both pitch counts/innings pitched, IMHO.
