Anyone know the district pairings in the region tourney this year? Does it rotate each year or is it a random draw? Two years ago 1st round was B-SE and P-E. Last year it was B-E and P-SE. I guess if it is a regular rotation, we're looking at B-P and SE-E? Anyone know semi matchups?

I have not seen Menchville play but am told they have players at all 9 positions.
I do believe that Menchville met Kellam a few years ago at ODU. Maybe someone else can remember for sure, but I believe the matchup was Watkins for Menchville and Ray for Kellam. Menchville won.
On any given day, any team can win.
Obviously, the results at the Beach do not support FC or Kellam to be powerhouses this year. Unless you can clutch the first place spot, a region spot should not be taken for granted. We all know that!
The way Kempsville has been playing, they may capture that second regional spot!
I have to agree. With back to back upsets of Kellam and PA, the Chiefs are playing as well as anyone right now. Important game for them Tuesday as their matchup with Tallwood could determine the 7, 8 seeds. Salem still has a shot of getting in, but they have a tough closing schedule and given that they are down at least a game and the tiebreaker on both Tallwood and Kempsville, they will likely have to run the table and hope for some help
Bethel lost to Woodside yesterday and Menchville earlier this week. Bethel should be favored to win their final three games.

Woodside and Bethel are currently tied for third but Woodside has three difficult games.

Gloucester should hang on to the #2 seed. They have Woodside remaining but winnable games against Denbigh and Heritage.

Still trying figure this post out? the results of the beach do not support FC or Kellam to be the powerhouses this year...hmmmm.. Seems FC has the most pitching to get them thru the season.....

And not to mention we have 7 different kids in the starting line up the have hit homeruns, 2 of them grandslams(one of them was a soph SmileAnd the defense
is just as good as the rest in the beach.
Well there you go no way, as a true "powerhouse" FC should win the district and the district tournament like they did a few years ago. I believe that year FC had a player that hit two grandslams in one game.
Guess a true test will be on Tuesday when FC meets Cox. Should be a great game. Any idea who will be on the mound for each team? Is Coach Gavin still the pitching guy for FC?

No Coach Gavin is no longer with the program...Fc has several pitchers wouldnt tell if I knew..Cox already scouted our team last week, maybe they know!
Its a home game for FC, maybe that gives us an advantageSmile!!!
Quite interesting, no way.
On April 3 you posted that you heard about the OL/FC game and you went to the Kellam/Cox game.
But now you call FC "our team".
I do commend you for not "telling" who your pitcher was even if you knew. In reference to the scouting of other teams, I have seen quite a few of the high school coaches scouting the other games. I think it is great. To have a coach care enough to see what they will be facing is fantastic.
Grasscutter, do high school coaches really prepare differently for a game based on the pitcher?
No Way, where is Coach Gavin coaching. He was with Stubbe for many years. Did he get his own school somewhere?

Not sure where Gavin is...And yes my Team is FC...
Like I said we have 4,5,6 pitchers and ayone one could get the start. Im not sure...But the issue now seems to be the rain.....And a correction to my post before...we had 2 soph hit grandslams and one Jr ...Srs. hit none of them...We have a good group of underclassmen coming up the ranks. And one happens to be the shortstop and speedy centerfielder. Regardless it should be a good match and we only lost to them before by 1 run....
