The Bruins managed to overpower a feisty but young and inexperienced Oscar Smith team. While OS put forth a valiant effort worthy of praise and adulation, WB was able to score 13 runs on 11 hits and the mercy rule had to be applied. While OS had more errors (5) than hits (2), their kids fought hard to the bitter end. According to my sources, OS is a school on the rise and better days are just ahead. They have already exceeded their win total from a couple of years ago in the first 2 weeks of the season alone. Undefeated WB meanwhile will have its first real test of the season in its Friday matchup with Great Bridge. Should be a good one.

My questions are...

Why is this poster entitled to completely new threads to spout his "humorous" and "witty" opinions about individual games and teams when there are threads dedicated to district games and "observations"? There are hundreds of baseball games played in the state and threads dedicated to each district or region specifically to discuss them, but somehow this person's opinions of games he attends are so important, they deserve their own thread? I regularly see other posts like these get moved to their proper place. I find it interesting that these are treated differently.

Have these 2 threads that have been started in regards to the OS/WB game been productive or insightful for anyone in any way really? I could almost understand if there were truly insightful details given, due to a vast, intricate, expert knowledge of each team and the game itself... but really?

* What exactly in the original post's rant was "factual", other than the hits and errors for OS?
* Do you really think that the OS players/pitchers/coaches do not know what pitching is, "factually"?
* Did the entire "infield" make routine plays look difficult "factually"? (ONE of the FOUR infielders made errors in the game that I watched... and matter of fact, the very first defensive play of the game for OS was a play on a slow roller by the freshman shortstop to get a very fast Brooks out at first base... certainly not "routine")
* Were the OS outfielders just there to work on their tans, really?? "Factually"??

This is the direction this Message Board is going, really?

I don't see how any grown, adult, "professional" people can feel good about making smarmy, condescending, insulting comments to others and find "humor" and "wit" in blasting anyone, much less a bunch of young ballplayers.

It's a shame, honestly, and I'm sure most of the people who have posted and or read these threads are emabrrassed by and want the entire conversation to go away. I certainly do. How about everyone agree to let it/make it go away.
