looks like the 2 ad's had two different times for the game. Manchester was preparing for a 4:30 game. Trying to be worked out now but seems like they might try and move it up to avoid any potential weather later.. Will update when there is a definite.

Looks like the latest puts the game at 6.  Hopefully the rain passes or is light enough to put in a delay and get the game in.  Do not need any more rain outs....

Monday 5/5 James River @Thomas Dale 5 pm start.

Thomas Dale 3, James River 2 Nathan Eaton pitched a complete game and had 7 strike outs.

Thomas Dale had lucky number 7 straight win tonight against Hopewell 13-3.  Colin Fleischer had a 3 run home run.  They play again on Thursday against Prince George at 6pm.

Great game Thursday evening with Cosby edging James River by one run for the second time this spring, 4-3.

Both JR's Winder and Cosby's Wilson were running 86-88 with breaking pitches in the 76-79 range.  Both very much in command but for one inning each.  Ciucci hit a 3-run bomb for Cosby in the 2nd.  JR responded in the 3rd when Large reached on a force play, stole second and third and then scored on a ground out.  Pasquantino hit an RBI triple to the wall to make that just missed going out to tie it, and was left at third to keep it 3-2.  JR scrapped for a run in the 6th to tie it, with Coleman Paz getting the key 2-out RBI hit, so it went to the final inning all tied up.

Ciucci led off the 7th with a clean single and was bunted to second, then reached third as the second out was made.  Brad McKay then hit a wicked liner to right that JR's RF had a bead on, but when the ball took a sudden late slice, it muffed off his glove to allow the go-ahead run to score.  Close call but apparently it was scored a hit, though honestly you'd like to see that play made.   Bottom of the inning, Harry Lee Watson led off with a hit, was bunted to second.  After a walk and a pop out, Will Gregory hit what easily could've been the game-tying hit on a hard smash to the 5.5 hole, but Ryan Hall made a diving stab, then got up and threw him out to end the game.  Hall actually had a fine defensive game with a handful of tough plays, but the timing of this one made it extra special.
