There is another tournament in Richmond next week, some call it North/South some call it Spring Break Fling. I think Lee-Davis has always hosted it, anyway below are some of the game times and schools, I am sure there may be a couple more games, but this is a start:

April 7th
Benedictine @ Lee Davis 3:00
Stafford @ Hermitage 3:00
Atlee @ St. Christopher’s 3:00
St. Christopher’s @ Lee-Davis 7:00
Stafford @ Douglas Freeman 7:00
Atlee @ Benedictine 7:00

April 8th
Stafford @ Lee-Davis 3:00
Benedictine @ Douglas Freeman 3:00
St. Christopher’s @ Hermitage 3:00
Matoaca @ Lee-Davis 7:00
St. Christopher’s @ Douglas Freeman 7:00
Benedictine @ Hermitage 7:00
Matoaca rallied to beat Hermitage yesterday, 6-5.

Matoaca got a 3-run HR in the top of the 7th to take a 6-4 lead, then got a break or two to stave off a last-ditch Hermitage rally.

The 3-run HR came with 2 outs. There was a man on 3rd who reached when a 3-2 pitch that appeared to me (standing directly behind home plate) to have been strike 3. In other words, Hermitage has a beef in this game if you ask me. Could easily have ended a 4-3 win for them.

But then Hermitage inexplicably put the winning run aboard, just because the guy had previously homered. So, the next guy homered instead, and it became a 2-run lead when that need not have happened.

With the tying runs at 2nd and 3rd in the bottom, Hermitage missed an easy chance to move them up on a wild pitch. That hurt when the next batter's shot down the line was knocked down on a fine play by the third baseman, so that only 1 run scored instead of 2. Matoaca then escaped without allowing the tying run to score.

Hermitage already has a win over Mills Godwin this year and almost pulled off another big upset. Matoaca found a way to win in the end, though, and that is what good teams do.
