Hi I am very new to this site, and I wanted to know what I should do. I am a 6'4 senior and I weigh 175 pounds. I throw four pitches and I throw consistently 85 mph. The problem is I haven't had a chance to be seen because of a knee surgery. I have contacted many coaches and have had no luck. I should be one-hundred percent by the beginning of the season. What should I do to get a college coaches attention???

The first and best advise I can give you is this - Don't get discouraged!

I've known young men who had Tommy John surgery during their Jr. year and also had to sit out until the next year. The ones that were true "ballers" went on to sign a scholly and are succeeding today! My point is this. If you are a bona fide player, they will find you.

Obviously, you shouldn't push it this fall/winter and try any showcases for fear of re-injuring your knee. Allow it the proper time to heal.

It might not hurt to send out a letter of introduction to area coaches and even let them know you are mending a knee and hope to see them next spring.
First of all, Welcome to HSBBW, rhstiger10. You are at the right place to improve your game. Spend some time learning from these great folks on these forums and you will have a great chance to meet your goals!

I agree with YoungGunDad. Take some time off and rest your knees. Your focus should be on rehabilitating your legs, which as you know are of extreme importance when pitching. Don't get caught up in the "timeline" issues and think you are behind and force yourself to showcase when you're not ready. That will back-fire on you.

Instead, come back (rehabilitated) next year and focus on improving your mechanics. Hook onto a Juco and next offseason work your butt off and have a killer Freshman year at college! Talk to everyone you know who can help you get into a program. Show your desire. You still have plenty of time.
