The maroons seem like an upcoming program as they recorded their first winning season finishing 17-15. Their head coach is entering his 4th year and seems to have done a good job. Have a very nice facility at Salem Memorial stadium, I believe it's the home of a minor league team, I don't know much other than they are on the rise but there is certainly better programs in the ODAC.

OBulldogs,

Since you've received only one other response, I'll add my two cents.  I know a little bit about the program as a family friend plays for the Maroons.  I've heard no complaints, and they are trying to turn this program around now.  The ODAC is very competitive baseball, and right now Bridgewater is the program to beat.   The one thing about the ODAC is they start their season the first week in February which can be brutal weather.

I know, or know of players on all the ODAC teams through high school baseball, Legion or travel baseball. It is pretty good baseball IMHO.   My son did a tour of the Roanoke baseball facilities through PIS's VA College Bus Tour, and he thought much more highly of Roanoke College after he visited it and spoke to the coaches.  My son had interest from a few ODAC schools last summer before he got hurt.

If Roanoke is a good fit academically, it is certainly worth a campus visit and camp.  They are looking for talent to move up in the ODAC.

Good luck..

Was up there a few years ago and drove through campus - nice small campus - lots of morning joggers from the community it seemed. At that time, they were still playing/practicing at the old field - they may still practice there. The minor league facility is nice so if they're playing all of their games there, that is a plus.

Thanks in advance

When are you going? I'll be interested in feedback as my son got an invite to come up after being seen at another college camp with multiple colleges in attendance. Can't afford to go out of town every weekend though so trying to choose judiciously.
