Solid program, very expensive to attend. They play in the Sunshine State Conference, which is very good. Located in Winter Park, Orlando, FL which is a nice area but very tight and not a lot of space. Their stadium and facility is good. Tuition is expensive at 35K not including housing, food, ect. They like to recruit New England area players and Florida JC transfers. Tough school to get into academic wise.
Umm....it's not that simple. First, Rollins is a private school as are all other D2 and all NAIA schools in Florida. Second, Florida State Law guarantees admission into a state 4-year school with the completion of a associates degree. Admission is based upon grades and other qualifications. Every 2-year grad gets in somewhere (public), based upon competitive admissions.

Regarding the State schools, you get an AA you are in..period. You are guaranteed admission with an AA, perhaps not to your school of choice, but you are guaranteed admission to a state school, regardless of 4.0 or 2.0.

Regarding the DII and NAIA, I think I am mistaken and I apologize to the OP. Dad04 is correct. I believe the Articulation agreement merely provides that if accepted, you enter as a Jr. and at least 60 credits transfer.

Hi, everyone. I have not posted in a long, long, long time. I used to be 2Bmom, but that email address died, and somehow I must have had another account as bluewave31. Anyway...my son graduated this year from Rollins College. I have to echo what another poster told me when we were questioning whether or not to accept the offer back in 2013. "Run, don't walk" to sign the NLI. Great advice!

Great school, competitive program, very caring and good people. Unfortunately, my son spent most of his time there on the DL. Through it all, the Rollins coaches and staff were 100% supportive. They took great care of him, he kept his scholarships, and he did finally pitch in his senior year, which was actually the best year the Tars had during his time there. His final inning was a save against D2 powerhouse U. Tampa. And he got a first rate education at the #1 school in the south (USA Today).  He has a very bright future thanks to baseball, Santa Fe College, and Rollins College. I'm very grateful that he had these opportunities.

Winter Park is a lovely town, and one of the best restaurants in the world, the Winter Park Fish Company, is right next to the field. I have so many great memories...

If anyone has questions about Rollins, please feel free to PM me.

Thanks for coming back! Very important indeed.

Tomorrow is sons first day of work as the pitching and recruiting coach for Florida Southern College in the same conference.  Have had some really great feedback from everyone on this D2 conference!!  The D2 national champs, Nova Southeastern  reside in my backyard!!!

Best of luck to your son.
