Rowlett wins 7-4 at Boyd... six hits, 7-run fourth... Rowlett can hit again.. 3 good pitchers... defense a little shaky tonight don't know if that's a trend.... could go 3-4 rounds deep again but don't know if they've got enough to beat whichever Klein team it'd meet... Boyd freshman LF, lefty hitting Will Hollis crushed 360-foot homer... player to watch

Game Story/Closer Look
Time for a rant...

Yeah, there's a good chance that Rowlett can go deep in the playoffs or all the way to Round Rock because they have a very easy road in front of them.

A first round match-up against the fourth place team in 9-5A?!?!?!!? That shouldn't be much different than those epic clashes with North Garland, South Garland and Garland (combined score of 96-1 in 5 games).

Meanwhile 8 of the best teams in the area (7-5A & 8-5A) are forced to throw down with each other in the first round. The 10 best teams in the area are Arlington Martin, Colleyville Heritage and the 8 playoff teams in 7-5A & 8-5A...end of discussion.

Mansfield
Mansfield legacy
Arilingto Martin
Colleyville
Grapevine
Flower mound
Southlake
Keller fossil ridge
Coppell

And any others that I left out! See ya in Austin!!

The only way Rowlett sees any of these teams is in the finals @ Dell Diamond. Rowlett is Region 2 while all of those teams are Region 1. Semis has Region 1 vs Region 3 and Region 2 vs Region 4. Rowlett has no control of what region UIL places them in.

Fixed your list. Mansfield schools? You lost your credibility there.

And grapevine? They're in a power district too.

Cannot agree with you more. Getting there may also take a little luck along the way as well. I have seen all of the recently ranked top 10 5A teams play and I think they would be hard pressed in a three game series to beat any of them. I would also put Flower Mound Marcus in a one game series against anyone in the area. There is a lot of really good baseball districts in the area in 4A and 5A. I have watched mostly 5A this year and with out a doubt have to say the toughest districts would be 7 5A and 8 5A. Just one opinion I am sure there are pleanty others
I've seen Rowlett play multiple times the past 2 yrs. They always play hard, have good pitching, get clutch hits and they get considerably better as the season progresses. I would also add, their players seem to have a good time playing the game, seem loose, confident and do a great job picking each other up. All things indicative of very good coaching. Carmen must be a hell of a coach.
