Hi all........I am a coach in South Bend. Just wondering where I can find the rule or article # about no smoking at high school athletic events so that it can be announced before games.......thanks and PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here in IL all you have to do is call local police, they will enforce the rule where ever it is in the rule books,,,carries a $250 fine here. It is against the LAW to smoke on any school grounds in IL.

I'm not sure, but I should think with enough witnesses!!! I'm a smoker too...but I can live without one for the time it takes to play a game....maybe if you tell the parent about the fine, and suggest he/she goes to the car,,,,or even alert the AD, ours is always somewhere around the fields during a game.

In Wisconsin it is a state law that you cannot smoke on school grounds. FIne is $275 first offense.
However if the game is played at a public park there would be no restrictions.
