Okay, I'm not a rules freak, but this seemed weird.

Runners on first and third with no outs in a minor league game. Call for a pitching change. New pitcher comes in, warms up, throws first pitch for a strike when he realizes the runner at third isn't there. Runner comes out of the dugout and goes to third — umpire lets him stay. He then scores on passed ball.

Is that legit?

I suppose you could grab an out for abandoning the bases. But then there's this umpire mistake problem where as an umpire you are supposed to be aware of the situation at time out and putting ball back in play.  Interesting one for sure.  Reminds me of the where's Manny Ramirez "situation" where he, um, disappeared into the green monster door to take care of some business...
