That's bizarre! Don't think I'd place money on this. The soon to be "Miami Marlins" are set to move into their new Part next year?
Everyone knows that the Marlins wanted more than anything to get out of FL, but MLB who has a controlling interest said no, they want a share of the FL market, which could be more lucrative but this is just not a baseball town and they lack in tradition than other teams from other places. They made so much money this year (not from attendance) they have been told they need to spend a bit more on salary and start signing their players to longer term contracts instead of trading.
Regardless, they put a good product on the field, better than some teams with long standing history and tradition and have two world championships to show for their efforts.
I am looking forward to opening day (whenver that comes) at the new stadium. No more heat and humidity, no more rain delays. Should be lots of fun!
