Asked on another board:
We have a coach here that teaches his players to run inside the running lane on ground balls to the infield. Now, a throw from the F5 (charging in), which F3 has to reach for (up the foul line), causes either a hit runner or a minor collision (with F3's mitt), just before B1 reaches the base. (B1 is/was clearly out of the running lane leading up to the base.
Ie….B/R running (just barely on the grass) towards first base. Just as he gets to first, the ball, F3's glove & runners leg (in front base, fair side), all meet at the same time, causing F3 to drop ball.

Would we have anything in either fed, obr or mlb?

Runner is out.

Wow, what a guy. Let's teach kids to run inside the line. Why waste your time working on trying to hit line drives when there is an secret formula out there? After coaching all afternoon I'll bet he sends out fake e-mails to senior citizens assuring them they'll get millions in cash from Nigeria if they'll just turn over a few social security checks.

I understand this comment, but mlb also allows 'plowing' into the catcher, (or any other fielder for that matter), whereas obr, does not.
Correct?
So while it may use obr, it has it's own rules also.

No, MLB does not have it's own rules other than the OBR. They may have some practices unique to their level of ball, but not different rules.

MLB owns the OBR. It is their set of rules. It is redundant to ask "what's the rule in OBR and MLB". They are the same.
