Hey guys, first time posting here.  Had a question, in the never-ending search for advantages to go along with a lot of hard work, what non metal cleats do you recommend for running the 60?  My 2016 will be running at Emerson in the PG sunshine southeast, and no metal baseball cleats are allowed.  I've heard everything from track cleats to a super light molded cleat from adidas.

Hes run out here before in molded nike cleats and plays in those as well, just looking for any additional help.

Nastycurve: Welcome ! Most of the ways to improve the 60 yard time are not really equipment related. As silly as it sounds, run in a straight line. Don't lung at the finish, but run through it. The molded cleats should work fine, especially since he is already wearing them. Some things you don't have control over including when son runs. If on grass, the faster times are usually among the first groups if everyone is running on same grass (wears). Human error enters in too, which is why lasers are the best.  The start is important; some good videos on the web.

If you want an "equipment" edge, my son (a speedster), ran some of his fastest times leaving his protective cup in baseball bag...freer movement.  Plenty of opportunity to put it back before skill sets or games.

Glad to see you here Nastycurve :-)  Bballman is on here  somewhere too...it's like a mini north Georgia party!

If its Turf grass and you can borrow or buy some...Molded soccer cleats are ideal.  My son found some on clearance last year in Atlanta area when playing at the new Lakepoint facility in Georgia.  He was flying while everyone else was slipping in games trying to get by on tennis shoes etc.  They are light as you will find next to tack cleats which im sure you can wear.

Timed my son yesterday on the football field (grass).  With new balance 4040 turf shoes then with new balance 4040 cleats.

Turf shoes - 7.02 and 6.86
Cleats - 7.31 and 7.07

Son said the turf shoes felt lighter and more comfortable for sprinting.  He decided he will use those whenever he is running for time.  Just thought I would come back here to share for others.
