I certainly hope that was not the hardest hit ball you have seen all year, there were HARDER hit balls in that game alone.
We clearly didn't see the same thing! The ball I saw never got more than 30 feet off the ground and was still traveling at max speed when it went into the top of the trees. Hanging curveball, yes. "Bomb"? Not for me. The ball would have to have been more of a fly ball, which this was not even close. The ball got out of the park so fast that the left fielder barely moved anything other than his head!
Otherwise comparing a line drive single or double down the third base line to the 380 ft line drive into the top of the trees is a bit a of stretch....no? Oh well. Life goes on!
One thing we can agree on, and I meant to make mention of this earlier, was Mason's play in CF. He personally saved 3, maybe four runs. The two plays he jumped in the shallow gaps and the great jump on the line drive to the center field fence (also a missile) were fantastic plays. Nobody I've seen this year makes all of those plays. He is without a doubt a high level D1 defender.
