Ellsworth "Brownie" Brown an MLB scout for 50-plus years for the Washington Senators, White Sox, Royals and Twins, died on Wednesday afternoon at the age of 94.
Brownie was the man who signed Bill Madlock and Kirby Puckett and discovered Jim Thome, but couldn't get the Twins to draft him.
He was the last of the old-school scouts and he will be sorely, sorely missed.
