Sorry I can't help with Saddleback specifically, mine went to Fresno. But I can say that the level of ball played by the California JC's is outstanding. It's a state that is well-populated with great ball players, and I would bet money that if your son wants to go on and play at a 4 year, the CA JC system can get him his best shot.
I was thinking about the possibility of transferring out there. Since my freshman year (last yr) was just confirmed it being red-shirted. Although I am having surgery now and not sure if I can pitch this year, but I know the 5 years time clock already started.

So after this year I will still have another year left at a juco and my family live about 10-15 mins from there and was trying to keep as many options open.

Thanks for the info everyone!
Most of the JC leagues in So Cal are very well scouted by Pro scouts, D1 and D2 schools. If you go to this link you can see where they go. http://spincostats.com/Communi...al/Professional.html

As I don't feel any one program dominates So Cal JC baseball, I believe you can choose from a number of JCs and get good exposure. ANother benefit is that you have a lot of different coaches/programs to choose from, making it easier to locate the right program for you, if you make the roster.

BBlefty, I dont want you to misunderstand. The talent in Illinois is the same as it is in CA. There are guys in Illinois just as good... You are probably one of them. The difference between Illinois and CA is in numbers of good players not in talent level.

We are talking depth of talent not the greatness of the individual athlete.

Ask the coaches to be honest with you. How you fit in.. Ask them how many D1 bounce backs they got last year. Ask them how many kids they have placed in 4 year baseball programs out of their program in the last couple of years.

Good luck.
Contact the coach. Rules have to do with in state territories. You can contact any coach directly. Calif JC,s are are competitive. The Orange Empire Conference, which Saddleback is part of, may be the toughest conference in the country. The rosters of some schools are already on line, check the D1 kickbacks.
