Confused
A very disappointing day. Our team was to play at Trevecca U at 9:30, arrived and there were small amounts of standing water in the infield grass and on the dirt. In my town, it would amount to about an hour of work and a few bags of diamond dry to get the field ready to play. Originally the discussion indicated a delay of the initial game until 11:00 or possibly 1:00.

Much to my dismay, the decision was made that diamond dry was too expensive. Isn't this part of why 15 teams would pay $500 each to participate, to offset the field expenses and the umpires?

So we have 15 teams with many in hotels and restaurants and the tournament host is to cheap to cover the diamond dry to prep the fields?

Not good.

Mickey and the people that run the Sandlott World Series do a great job. Various parts of Middle Tennessee received rain throughout the day. Why spend the money and resources to get the field ready if more rain is on the way? I am sure that the people at Treveca University had a major part in the discussion to not play the games.
