Pretty disappointing, JAP -- I'm at a loss to explain the problem (other than the obvious --- if we hit we don't field, if we field we don't hit) --- or a solution. I hope the guys dig deep for the final two games. PS claims the team has good chemistry, but I want to see more fight! I want to see them scrapping and battling and playing with passion. I want the returnees to go into the summer eager to rid the bad taste of losing --- determined to improve. It has been tough to watch. I don't blame the seniors or the coaches or one or two specific players -------- but it's pretty disappointing.

Avery's first baseball game today. Smile

Ya its been a disappointing year for us. PS is right we do have really good team chemistry. Alot better than last year I think. Ya im ready to go into the summer and actually win some games. It has been very disappointing for me too watching the whole year on the bench when i feel like I could help the team out somewhere.

I was wondering when the grandkid would see his first game

On Friday night Dallas Christian defeated Plano Prestonwood 4-3 in 11 innings. And clinched the district championsip!!! Buddy Elmore started for DC and left after 5 with the score tied 3-3. Aaron McCain (soph.) came in and shut them down and got the win. Hunter Hill pitched for Prestonwood. He went deep in the game I think into the 8th or 9th. Jordan Swagerty came in and pitched well but in the 11th 2 walks and a hit up the middle scored the winning run for DC!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Chargers!!

On Saturday DC beat South Garland in a marathon back and forth 14 inning game!!! Which DC won on a walk off 3 run shot by Brian Buehler!!!!! 25 innings of baseball in less than 24 hrs.!! Again good job Chargers!!

CapJack,

Sounds like a couple of great wins for DC. They've got some real talent there. What a great baseball tradition they have built over the last several years. Aaron McCain plays for our Frozen Ropes 16U team and Brian Buehler plays on our Frozen Ropes 18U team. We're looking forward to a great summer with these two guys being key contributors!! Way to go Chargers!! Good luck in the TAAPS playoffs!
Screwball,

You are correct. A Duncanville win over Lamar, a DeSoto win over Cedar Hill on Tuesday...coupled with a Lamar win over AHS and a DeSoto win over Dunc on Friday would create a 2 way tie for 2nd place.

1st tie-breaker is head to head among the 3 teams...if the above happens, then everyone is 1-1 against each other so it goes to the 2nd tiebreaker.

2nd tie-breaker - "If three or more teams tie for third place (there is no provision in the district rules for a three way tie for 2nd place) a playoff game or tournament will be played at a neutral site if possible. Coin flip will be used to determine game bye(s)."

Now, according to this, all three teams would flip a coin. The odd man out of the flip gets the bye and a playoff spot. The other two would play for 3rd and the winner would play the other team for 2nd.

If I were in that situation and I won the coin flip that assured me a playoff spot, I would use the 2nd place playoff game as a tune-up game and get my pitchers some work.

First off we need to take care of our own business because that is all we control.

I would personally like to see Lamar win. This way it sets up a winner takes 3rd place game on Friday between us and Duncanville.

3 way tie breakers are messy!
