HP wins with walk off home run by McElroy with runner on second, 6-5. HP was down 5-4 going in to the bottom of 7th. Thompson pitched the whole game and takes the loss for Heath. Heath had it with two outs and I believe two strikes...but it is never over till it is over.
Who would guess that final when Heath has 10 hits, just 1 error and 5 extra base hits while HP has just 6 hits, 2 errors and only 2 extra base hits. Sounds like a good one.
Down 5-1 after Lake Highlands scored 4 in top of inning, Jesuit responds by scoring 9 in bottom of 6th, led by back to back homers by Kevin Terry (2 run shot) and Josh Bell.
Good game at Boyd last night. Rowlett leading in 10-5A and have blanked both Boyd & Naaman in district play to date. Looks like Boyd and Naaman Forest battling it out for second spot. Lot's more district play remaining. Could be anyone's game. That da way baseball go.
Very entertaining game. Crick pitched 5 innings with about 15 radar guns in the stands. I got to verify that my "outdated", 3yr old, bought used off e-bay, Jugs gun shows the same readings as the Stalkers 95% of the time.
I wasn't expecting him to pitch a non-district game, so it made for a fun afternoon in perfect weather.
We had the bye last night in district play so today was his scheduled start. The Brewers scout sentme a text that he was 96 on his gun today. He definitely did not have his best stuff but he battles through that and our poor defense.
Yep, I had him at 96 on one pitch on my gun... consistent 93-94.
Two of the four hits off him were on change-ups (84mph on both).
As a side note, from my perspective he also made the play of the game by snagging the low, line-drive down the line in the 6th when he was at 1B. If that gets by, things may change a lot. Knocking that ball down was huge.
Like I said... very entertaining. Glad you guys didn't get tangled up in the fire on 75 just north of Allen. My son is on JV, so I went up to Sherman this morning...avoided the fire by exiting early and taking Hwy 5 for 2 miles, figured the bus would too, and was literally a mile from Sherman High when my son texted me that the game was cancelled.
had planned to watch that and then AC play a double-dip... glad it wasn't a wasted day, and I could get back home and watch the varsity guys play y'all.
