What about the 'hit-and-run' where the 2B breaks to cover the bag and the batter hits a ground ball right where 2B was standing....a possible DP becomes a hit...

And you can't complain about defensive positioning taking away a hit (e.g. the CF playing shallow). Every defensive move takes something away but also opens something up...
