this is prolive heard if a player reaches on an error he is considered out for the at bat. he gets and at bat but does it go agaist his batting average?

Well, you are not considered out...If you reach base because of an error you can only be considered safe. If you have reached base safely on an error, that would be considered an at-bat and that does impact your batting average.
