Scout Sports and Scout Baseball are very excited to announce our 2014 Baseball Schedule very soon. Your first stop to learn more about Scout Baseball should be:
Over the past 3-years we have changed a sport. Your next stop should be:
In just 3-years, Scout Softball created a process and format that eliminated the need for college coaches to attend events to recruit qualified players. We didn't start that way though. In a showcase event in 2011, we had around 50-coaches in attendance to watch 78-players at our Southwest Showcase. While this may be good enough for some, we decided scouting and recruiting needed to evolve..and quickly.
First, we created an environment for our players that allows them to be tested without restraint. In order to properly evaluate a player, we needed to push them to their limit in order to properly identify their skills. This means that failure is part of the process and is an invited part of the process. When you come to a Scout Baseball Showcase, please don't expect 10 two hoppers to your glove side and to backhand an eleven hopper 3 feet to your backhand side. You will be tested and pushed. Because of this, your results will be as accurate as possible. You'll also notice that we're not conducting a cattle call of 100-players at a time. In softball, we sell out 90% of our events and do not exceed or maximum number of players for any reason. You deserve a real opportunity, not a chance to be one of 300-players who was "invited" or "accepted" into a showcase.
The second part of the equation is allowing coaches to view the showcase without traveling and burning a recruiting day. So we continued to invest in video and quality to make certain that we are capturing the event completely, so that every players skills are properly represented at the highest possible quality to college coaches anywhere. Keep in mind as a player, your days to demonstrate your skills are limited by time and money as well. We created a process that takes 1-playing day and allows that performance to have an unlimited reach among college coaches and pro scouts.
Now we've been able to test athletes in the proper environment and showcase their skills to coaches with the best video product available.
No longer was a player only able to gain exposure to the schools in attendance. College Coaches trusted the video content provided by Scout, because players are thoroughly tested, in competition with pressure.
The next part of the process is how players are able to use their Scout Showcase to reach EVERY college coach in the sport. It's simple. Every program has an account with Scout Sports. They have access to detailed player information, video and player comparisons.
Every player in the Scout database is graded in 40-different categories, which means we are analyzing a player's performance at a level no other scouting company can. Our player comparisons and rankings are not comprised of opinions, it's made up of as many measurable traits as possible on all athletes. Our scouting system allows us to make objective decisions on the most subjective skills, such as hitting so that all players are graded and evaluated on the same scale.
A 20-80 Scale or a Player Rating Scale where 300 players can be 10's doesn't provide enough data on players for coaches to use. Players in the Scout Database are graded in such detail that one prospect may have a .01 advantage over another player.
Players are ranked by position, graduating class, status etc. All in a very user friendly way for college coaches.
Players are no longer only able to reach coaches in a live capacity to begin the recruiting process. Because we Scout with such detail and test our athletes in the proper environment, college coaches around the country are able to find qualified and verified athletes on the Scout website with ease. Imagine playing in a showcase and making the play of your life. Then imagine what happens when that play lives on, 24-hours a day in the place that recruiters and scouts flock to find qualified prospects.
Add to all of this our National Showcase Events, where games are filmed and seen by an even larger audience than our Regional Showcase Events and you can see why we're different.
When you put all of these things together, then you have over 100-players in the past 18-months receive scholarships to Division 1 schools. In most cases, schools that relied on scouting reports, workout footage and game footage from Scout Softball to proceed int the recruiting process.
As an example, 2 Top 10 SEC schools are currently recruiting the top position player in our National Rankings. Both have offers out. Guess how many times the head coach has seen the kid play live? 0. They have game footage, workout footage and our reputation on the scouting side and that's all they need.
Imagine what this small town kid from Arkansas' future would be if she would have chosen to attend one of those "showcases" where 10-JUCO coaches are paid to work instead of going to a Scout Showcase?
We're excited to bring our unique program to Baseball and are even more excited about the great people we have involved, that combine for over 50 years experience at the Division 1 level coaching and scouting at the Major League Level (regional supervisor/national crosschecker experience).
Mostly, we're excited to help great young men and their families make the recruiting and scouting process more efficient.
