Does Anyone know anything bout these teams? Salem Sun Devils, Tidewater Kellam Knights, Lynchburg Cardinals,Valley Vikings, NVA Blackhawks, Mels Mobsters, Virginia Cavaliers or Central Virginia Baseball all these teams will be playing in the Sluggers ball tournament in Richmond this weekend just wondering if anyone knew of these teams or talent level that was on any of these teams.

The Salem team is basically the Salem (Va. Beach) High School team playing together as a summer/fall travel team. I saw them at the Beach Blast last spring. They have solid high school talent but I wouldn't say they are unbeatable.

The Lynchburg team I believe is a Legion team that continues playing into the fall under that name. Pretty much same caliber as the Salem team.

Haven't heard of the others, though I have to wonder if the Kellam team is also built out of a Va. Beach high school (hence the inclusion of "Kellam" in the team name).

Travel ball at that age tends to get a bit sloppy when you're dealing with in-state teams.

For the most part, the Braves rule those tourneys, so keep your eye on their entry. They will no doubt be your toughest competition, though the others could well take you down if you look past them.
The Lynchburg FALL team traditionally has been one of the stronger showcase teams in the state. Every single senior from the past two years is playing college ball somewhere, many at D-I. They are very much 2-3 notches above the Salem team, at least based on last year's performances against them.

Central Va Baseball is another team made up of players primarily from the surrounding areas of Lynchburg. They will be pretty good, and may actually have more talent than this year's Cardinals.

We did farely well the wood bats really humbled us. We had some strong pitching performances put out by Austen Davis and Jacob Mays; and most importantly Mike Hohenstein, he had our only win.We just couldnt get those timely hits, but we ended up makeing it to the semifinals though on a 1-3 record.Haha.Mays did decent on the mound he had a No Decision the first game we played he had, I believe 5k's in four innings and gave up 2 hits. The game Hohenstein pitched was one of his best perfomances yet this fall he struckout 6 in 5 innings an had a nasty slider working for him.But in the end the offense is what really hurt us.
