Three way of 5 inning scrimmages at West Springfield with Oakton and Flint Hill. OHS and WSHS tied at 2, and OHS topped Flint Hill 9-4 (although UVA commit Tommy Doyle did not pitch). DNK about Flint v. WSHS. Players and coaches working out the kinks. Constant 32º with wind and flurries over five hours, with little sun: coldest we've ever experienced. Didn't seem to bother the players, but I'm still thawing out.

I also attended this scrimmage (I am not affiliated with any of these teams but just as a fan of baseball). Overall all the three teams looked very good considering the circumstances (cold weather, snow, wind, etc.). I was most impressed with Flint Hill. For being such a small school they played very well against both West Springfield and Oakton. Although I am not surprised of their success considering the coaching the staff that they have, somewhat of an all star of a coaching staff.Tommy Doyle (UVA commit) pitched against West Springfield and did very well considering the circumstances. I believe it was Flint Hill's number two hitter and middle infielder had a homerun in the Oakton, which was the furthest ball hit all day. Flint Hill will definitely be team to watch through out the year. Both Oakton and West Springfield will surely improve from these scrimmages but both look to be contenders at the end of the season.
