Scrimmages/Games this Weekend? (March 9-10)

The second Saturday of March is usually a pretty packed day ... who's got games going on Saturday?

Bishop Sullivan will be in Richmond at St Chris and Benedictine.

Midlo -

There will be 2 games at St C's, Benedictine, Trinity, and Steward. They will each play 2 vs Covenant, Bishop Sullivan, Greenbriar Christian and Cape Henry Collegiate, if memory serves me correct.

I think GCA is playing Benedictine at 1130am and then Trinity Epicopal at 230PM...A 3rd game is a TBA...

2012 Richmond Invitational Schedule

At St. Christopher’s – Bishop Sullivan 11 a.m., Cape Henry Collegiate 2:30 p.m.

At Benedictine – Greenbrier 11 a.m., Bishop Sullivan 2:30 p.m.

At Steward – Cape Henry Collegiate 11 a.m., Covenant 2:30 p.m.

At Trinity – Covenant 11 a.m., Greenbrier 2:30 p.m.

There is no third game.

Tucker defeated Varina 8-3 off 3 unearned runs, and without Gorman pitching.

Sophomore Chase McPhearson started and threw 3 innings giving up no earned runs.

Senior, Dylan Gonzales came in and threw 2 innings, no hits, no runs.

Sophomore, Randy Neisz threw one inning and gave up no hits as well and no runs either.

Then finally, Junior, Austin Burke threw 1 inning to close it out, and the Blue Devils went 1,2,3 to end the game.

Any details about the North Stafford / James River Scrimmage ??

Was a fairly close game early on, with JR up like 3 or 4 runs to 1 going into the later innings before they opened it up on NS's 3rd or 4th pitcher I believe. Didn't stay till the very end though, so I don't know what the final was. Don't recall which JR pitcher NS scored on.

T Rose followed: [I only stayed for 1 inning here, he probably threw another one]. ~15 pitches; 0 walks; 1 K swinging, 1 K looking; 1 hit (2B to LC).

JR offense: (thru 8 inn)
Roberts: 1 for 3
Trentham: 2 for 3 (2 2B's)
plus ~6 walks and a fair amount of errors by NS.

Am sure that I did not capture everything, so feel free to add/subtract as necessary.

Score was 9-3 James River in 10 innings.
Other notable was a HR by North Stafford.
