Well my sons team played there last game of the season last sat. down in the WWBC 15U we won a consolation game to end the tournament 3-2. We played very well in all but 1 game and lost a great game 3-2. We competed with the best teams not only in our region but in the country and that is all you can ask. Last year we played #1 ranked East Cobb Astros and lost 6-0 but played with confiedence and gave them a game our boys were mad they lost. That team is now playing in the CABBA World Series 15U in Crystal Lake area check them out if you get the chance. Anyway it was a fun season and another great experience for my whole family espically my 15U son. He got to pitch agianst some of the top teams around and did well and at times dominated, but also got hit and learned more about himself as a pitcher and person by how he responded to getting rocked-- I was most proud of-after a rocking by a 16U team I believe 6 runs in 2 innings he responded by allowing only 1 earned run in last 16 innings of year and only 1 more unearned run. He enjoyed playing agianst the best teams rather than playing medicore teams and dominating which showed me his character. On the way home from Ga. he already was talking of working more on his change-up, doing more core conditioning; speed training--I am glad I don't have to push him and he can push himself. His team the Illinois Royals plan on going back to the 16U WWBC and giving even a better showing--hopefully another Illinois team can join us this year--we have been the only Illinois team in our age group the last 2 years and want some other teams to get the experience we have so they also could reep the benefits of playing the best of the best at a younger age and giving them the confidence they can play with anyone. Hope everyone enjoyed there seasons as much as we did--fall ball in 1 month.
