Rob.......one place to start is by trying to play fall ball if he is not playing other sports......try the place in Wixom called Total Baseball.......they have a website you can google to find...........
Also, there is a website that has recently had unofficial 'announcements' of tryouts for next summer's teams......the website is http://www.mlive.com go to either the HS baseball forum or the youth baseball forum.....there should be some contact information there.
Rob, the best thing I can say do is like I did. Go to ETEAMZ.COM and look under baseball, in MI. I know of a lot of teams out there that age. But don't know where to go to get the tryout. Also try AABABASEBALL.COM, They have a link on the left that coaches looking for players post, and players looking for teams can post. Good Luck.
It may be a good idea to sit down with your son and find out what schools he may like to go to after HS. Then contact the coach on his recommendation for what summer teams he is scouting. It is a small world up here in the North. Most import aspect is talent vs academic goals. Is your son a D1 prospect or CC or D3 progam? 4.0 or 2.0 GPA??? There are many ways to get exposure. In fact most scouts or coaches go to these select games to see a specific player not the talent on the teams. For exposure go to showcases and camps.
