So, after the Mets clinched, Terry Collins went over to a group of Mets fans who had made their way to one of the front sections and were celebrating.  It was pretty cool that he came over and shook hands, gave high fives and hugs to some of those fans.  As Collins made his way along the low wall, he came across a guy who was front and center and had a clear direct path with the opportunity to meet the coach in person.  Instead, the guy turned his back to the coach and lifted his selfie stick, opting for a picture instead of a real life interaction.

What the He!! has our society come to?

I am old.  And I personally don't care about any of.it.  I like watching the tremendous skills of these guys.  Beyond that I don't really care about autographs, pictures, handshakes or.anything else.  The only really great memory I have is shaking Gerald Ford's hand when I was 13 and he was president.  That was pretty cool.  All that being said I guess I have no values because if I were to choose it would be the picture rather than a 'human interaction'.

Meeting or taking pictures with celebrities does nothing for me. I've lived around them. They're just people. If I had to choose I would take the social interaction then ask for a picture together. The opportunity to have an extended conversation with a person of interest would be significant.
