Shakeup of coaches at WSU

we have local high school senior that was being recruited to play at wsu....his brother is already playing...this announcement has left him and his brother wondering what will happen...talk of the coach from creighton taking over....i hope things work out at wsu for the players

The players at OU are also devastated by this situation. Coaches Golloway and Corral were very respected by the players and there is talk of some of them planning to transfer. Sunny Golloway has asked to be considered for the WSU job and is to interview within a few days. How ironic it would be if OU and WSU staffs just traded places? I don't think this happens very often. But WSU couldn't go wrong if they hired both Golloway and Fred Corral, the pitching coach...both are excellent coaches.

The WSU website is now indicating that Coach Stephenson has changed his mind and will be staying. Indicates he found the "scholarship situation" at OU too restrictive to take that program in the right direction. This was not handled well at all for a Coach with his experience, IMO.

Wonder what scholarship restrictions would not have been known ahead of time?

Whatever happened to that lawsuit by that Molina kid and against WSU and Christiansen for that beaning Molina suffered a few years ago.

Resolved or still out there?

According to the Wichita Eagle, OU is 4 scholarships over the allotted 11.7 and Stephenson knew about it beforehand but thought they could work things out. That is until he found out it could take three years!

95% sure I read Molina got paid out of court. The offender was a high draft pick with low brain wave activity.

Coming out of this story is the question of how OU could be 4 scholarships over the 11.7 limit. They obviously have a compliance officer to oversee what the coaches are doing and through this system of checks and balances they end up with upwards of 15 baseball scholarships? That, to me, would seem to be a at least as significant an issue as the coaching situation.
