Wow. I feel like running out there right now to punch him in the nose. ![](https://community.hsbaseballweb.com/fileSendAction/fcType/12/fcOid/2982475074710623/fodoid/2982475074710624/imageType/MINI_THUMBNAIL/inlineImage/true/3016001544avatar)

At the very least he should be shamed out of the sport.

notice he didnt stick around long enough to shake the other coaches hand...
i don't know if the audio mentioned the ages of the kids (I'm at work), but they look to be around 10 or so. Anyway, if that was my son, I'd probably be in jail.
Yes - coaches should be charged. Then the legal process / trial can work the way it is supposed to work and decide if he is guilty. I promise that even if not convicted the message would be delivered.
There is nothing that can in anyway defend this guy but I want to know what happened in the game to cause this? He pretty much blows off every kid in the line and then targets this kid. What in the world did this kid do to warrant such treatment?
I hope they prosecute the guy personally.

I'm going to guess the kid is 1) a chippy player or 2) gave the coach's kid a clock cleaning. Even if the kid plays dirty it's not the coach's responsibility to knock him down.quote:Originally posted by coach2709:

It's hockey! Nobody gets arrested. Two minutes for tripping. (1:30 in Bantam)

Two minutes? Should be two days. In this...
"Is that uncomfortable?"...

Wow,You could see he was going after him from the get go.How sad and pathetic.
The game was a championship for 13yo summer hockey league. Martin Tremblay, the coach of the UBC Hornets, claimed to have slipped as he approached a line-up of opposing players on the Richmond Steel team. In another story Tremblay claims that he tripped. The kid may have a broken wrist which could lead to intent to injure charges.
Yeah, it kind of makes you want to hang him fom the highest tree.
But think about this: he's posted on YouTube in HD, with nationally publicized links, citing his name, doing THAT. To a kid.
No matter what he says, I bet that video makes him want to take it back more than any old-fashioned misdemeanor assault charges ever could.
He's already getting what he deserves. Just take it in and enjoy it.

Charge him with anything they can. Whether he is convicted of any charges or not at least they could make his life miserable for a while. He deserves it.
There was clearly intent IMO. The way he turned around and pointed at the kid after he got up says to me that he had a problem with the player.
What a classless tough guy. Barely shakes hands with the players and then does that. Definition of an A-hole.

This morning, TV news said he was arrested. And, yes, WraggArm, he's getting hammered on youtube like those middle school kids on the bus.

Like that ad: "Want to get away?"
I hear there's a well insulated single wide up near the Yukon border that's reasonably priced. It's in Toad River (how appropriate) just south of Muncho Lake.
It's back in there a quarter mile or so. Kinda' hard to find at night. No cable access...that's a plus. Imagine the snowball fights he could have with the tykes up there!

No, the coach should not be charged. This is what's wrong with our society.
The coach should be banned from ever coaching a sport again.
Also once the youtube video goes viral then this "coach" will be getting death threats and be shamed publicly.
I say let everything unfold.
I'd rather see the coach banned for life from coaching than convicted. Also be convicted would be good too. The gravy would be if the kid broke his wrist the coach loses a civil siut for a significant amount of money.
It seems to me the camera person is clearly following the coach. The coach is pretty much in the center of the frame the whole time. Just found that kind of interesting, normally a parent would be focused on their kid. Wonder who the camera person was, and if they had an idea something might happen?
.
Good observation and good question MNfroshdad.
Maybe the person with the camera was the coach's dad? Or mom? But, of course, if that were the case we would have heard cheering at the moment of the trip!
"Way to go son! He looks to be about your size...no problem!"

MNfrosh: i was noticing that also. The coach must have been raising a fuss or why would the camera person have been 'ready and focused'??
I noticed that too. I'm guessing the coach was mouthing off and threatening the kid during the game.quote:Originally posted by MNFroshdad:

From my experience as a s****r,hockey, baseball parent is that the coaches and the refs put a end to the dirty plays during the game.
If they don't, then the players on the field will handle it.
Adults don't go after kids !I'm surprised that there wasn't a riot.

Many people came down really hard on the baseball players in CA from about a month or so ago. Where's the outrage with this jerk? Just curious.
At the minimum he should never be able to coach again and should pay for the kid's medical bill.

Anyone who seeks out a kid like that and try and injure him has real issues and deserves to be charged. Lucky for him he tripped somebody elses kid because had he done it to my kid, it would've be the last time he would even be capable after the beatdown he'd get.

Well after extensive research on the subject (four or five minutes on YouTube®) I'm pretty convinced their feud got started something like this. The names, of course, have been changed to protect the indigent.
I would have thought that one clan or the other wearing pantaloons would have been the cause, but as you can see they are all wearing them. Rule out the pantaloons being the cause of the feud. We're getting somewhere now.

I don't know. Jail for tripping a kid seems a little harsh. He should never be allowed to coach again and if the kid was hurt he should be required to pay for all of his medical bills and treatment.
The coach is an idiot for sure though.
