If you have interest in that school, by all means attend the camp. There will be several benefits:

(1) You'll get to interact freely with the coaches with no restrictions on communication

(2) You'll become much more familiar with the school, facilities, and coaching styles

(3) Based on the coaches' response to you while you're at the camp, you'll be able to see if you have a legitimate shot at playing for their program

if you are interested & were gonna eventually contact them to express that interest, it seems like a good way to start.

as I said tho, camp lists are not recruiting lists so don't read too much into the invite at this time

future camp dates are usually posted on their websights and are open to anyone within their advertised age range

I agree with Bee. Camp list are not recruiting list. Camps fall somewhere between the ability to throw a 60 mph fastball and the ability to strike out in recruiting importance. However name recognition is a recruiting necessity and the opportunity to communicate with the coaching staff should not be overlooked in this instance. Since the school is one of interest I suggest your son respond via regular mail ---- I think it shows class. It will probably be opened and “chunked” by an administrative assistant but it could generate a “comment” in the process. Remember recruiting is a process --- not a single event.
