I'm a 6'3" 230 lbs. RHP and i had a twinge in my throwing shoulder. It is now basketball season and i haven't thrown in about a month. I have not felt any pain in any other situations. My dad, while at a physical therapy for my grandma asked the doctor about the problem. He said it was most likely a tight pectorial muscle causing the shoulder muscles to work harder and pinch together. is this a common alliment?

RIF (READING IS FUNDAMENTAL)

Texan/StarDad,

You wouldn't know good advice if it slapped you upside the head. The OP said his father asked the doctor, not therapist. Pain might require some type of therapy, rest or a combination of both. A cortisone shot might be another option later down the line depending on what is specifically wrong.

Throwing a baseball is a motion not naturally associated to the shoulder joint, rotator cuff and labrum. If you have the time and resources and it bothers you to the point it concerns your future, definately have it looked at. If anything, at least for the peace of mind.
