have any of you had to have shoulder surgery??? I'm kinda in a tight sport cause i just transfered schools and im gonna have to miss at least the first half of the season and tryouts. The head coach has never seen me play and the assistant coach has only seen me pitch once when we beat his team. What im asking is what would be the best thing to tell him and how long was your recovery for baseball if you have had shoulder surgery on you non throwing arm.

You can tell him that recovery time will be shortened because of your work-ethic, history of short heal-times, modern medicine (therapy), etc.

8 months should be expected but it could be much shorter if it does not involve a rebuild. The shoulder is the most lucid joint in the body. Recovery times with medicine can be even shorter than 8 months....but throwing the baseball is not ordinary feat by any stretch of the imagination. Good luck!
