Showcase if not on HS team

Need help!!

My son desperately wants a scout or college to see him play in hopes of getting a scholarship. He did not make his high school team due to 100 kids trying out and them picking only 20. Anyway, every coach that sees him play is astonished that he is not on a high school team. What can he do. His passion is baseball and people say he is outstanding. I need advice on how to get him noticed for college. Are showcases only for high school team players. We live in Mokena, Illinois.

If he is good he should be playing summer ball with some level of team (AABC,Legion, AAU, Showcase, etc). Showcases unless invite only, will take your money. Look at the major ones Like perfect game, let him do a local showcase to see how he does.

HS baseball is not as important as you might think . Good example a ball players attended a number of HS Showcases, played on top travel team and transfered his senior year for some reason did not make the hs team. Was worked out by a JUCO. Signed on the spot and started for the JUCOI and hit well.

Keep in mind Michael Jordan got cut too in HS.

Let me say this--- it matters not how many players , 10 or 100, try out the talent is seen and they are chosen

Bottom Line--- this is going to sound tough---Perhaps he does not have the talent you think he does perhaps you are being told something

I have had other high school coaches tell me that they want him on their teams. Rather than move my residence and change schools, I will try to get him into a good college without the high school ball. Also, ask any parent in our school system and they will tell you that politics has a huge role in the selection of that team. There are some kids on team that are much worse than many kids that didnt make it.

How old is he? If he's not a senior yet, he should just try to work as hard as he can during the offseason so then his talent will rise above the other players who made it. And if they still don't choose him, like others have said try to get him on a good summer program where he can get exposure.
