Hi! My son is an '09 who will be the varsity catcher for the next two years (he's been told that by the coach already).

I'd like to get him to a showcase or two that will have a decent amount of college coaches attending (say, within 3 or so hours or NJ).

We applied to the PG showcase in Flemington, but were not selected (not exactly sure what the criteria is).

What I'm thinking that its the junior year in HS that really matters for a baseball player, because by the time he's a senior, it may be too late to get noticed, apply, etc... so we'd like to see what attention we can get now.

there's a local showcase or two, but I'm a bit hestitant to start throwing money around when its just a local coach who may or not have real connections.

Thoughts/advise?

Thanks!

goMo,

There are a number of showcases in the New Jersey area that you can check into.

IMHO the best of the best Jersey showcase is called Selectfest and it is held in June. This showcase is primarily for players that will be seniors however a few rising juniors have been selected as well. I think they have a website you can check out.

PG has done a winter showcase at Cust for the last couple of years as well. The PG website will post the showcase info if they are doing it again this year.

Good luck.
