Wasn't sure how to just link this discussion to the "Ask About Colleges" Forum, so here's the link.

Any new information regarding Siena and its program (rapid changes in Assistant Coaches over the last couple year), and a rough year in the MAAC after a season where they went 30-26 in 2008. Hard to tell which year is more indicative of where the program is headed. Any insight?

I'm not sure that asst. coaches moving around is an indication of anything. My sons current college coach told me that he considered it part of his job to train up his assistants so they could move on to greener pastures and better jobs.

There tends to be a lot of movement among assistants. In 3 assistant slots at Juniors current college, he's had 5 coaches in 2 years.

Since you are from MD and from your previous posts you seem aware of MIAA baseball, so you likely know that Siena's asst coach/recruiting coordinator is Jimmy Jackson. Jackson is former pitching coach for Arch Spalding HS. While I have met Coach Jackson and find him knowledgable and a good guy, I don't know much about his coaching style or that of the Siena HC.

But, you can bet there will be plenty of opinions about the Siena coaching staff and the program itself. My intuition is that Siena is a program on the way up. You might send a PM to TRHit or Coach Merc. They are knowledgable sources for most schools in that part of the country.

Good luck!

Yes, I remember Coach Jackson well. I wonder if he helped DeVito and Patten on their way to pitching at Radford. Must be a good Coach.

When you say, "But, you can bet there will be plenty of opinions about the Siena coaching staff and the program itself" are you referring to the other threads about Coach Rossi's longevity at the school? If not, what else.

From what I see/heard the pitching at Siena took a turn downward last year, but perhaps it was an off year.
