Does a skillshow video from a Perfect Gsme Showcase provide anything more than if one of my parents stood on the side of the field and videotaped me? Is it worth the money?

It really does. I never purchased any video from skillshow, we did have a page a long time ago. When my son participated in the World Showcase he was filmed and his video was available to be viewed by subscription. I paid a nominal fee to have access for a few months so that I could see what they had. It was very well done (I enjoyed watching it numerous times 
). We did our own video for my sons getmynameout.com site and it worked fine but was no where near the quality of skillshow.
That said, the recruiters are not looking for quality video, but quality skills. These can be seen with good video that is not professionally produced.

Agree totally. It's been many years since our recruiting days but the Skillshow video was worth every nickle-it showed everything that needed to be seen, professionally edited, set to non-intrusive music, all in about a minute. Coaches don't have the time or inclination to watch long videos.
also had one for son years ago and paid a monthly subscription for awhile that was well worth it. In addition to the video, the site allowed you to update the info for upcoming games schedules, stats etc. so folks could keep up with you during your school and travel ball seasons.
