Slower Pitchers

If you get batters out there will be a spot for you in college baseball.

If you watch the college world seies every year you will see a lot of pitchers throwing between 78 and 84

It would be rare IMO for a top D1 such as an ASU or a Texas to recruit a pitcher (even a lefty) who isn't hitting 80. That being said, there are many D1 programs who would love a lefty who can get kids out no matter how hard he throws.

The key element as TR said if you can get hitters out and not walk batters you will be able to pitch in college. When my son was being recruited the coach was more concerned with can you hit your spots and can you throw any pitch regardless of the count for a strike.
If you can do that he said you will have a successful college career.

Most lefty how throw in the upper 80's are probably getting paid to do that.

I've been watching Texas and ASU play year-in/year out for the past 6 or 7 years and I don't think I've seen any pitchers for either team that cannot break 80. I would say they're all mid-80's to low-90's guys.
