i heard texas and arizona state are 2 premier programs that will recruit pitchers mainly lefties who dont hit over 80 on the radar gun. ive also heard texas had some lefties in there bullpen throwing in the 70s last year. i was wondering if this stuff was true, if universities do recruit pitchers throwing in the 70s, and how slow would you say is too slow to pitch in college or get recruited

The key element as TR said if you can get hitters out and not walk batters you will be able to pitch in college. When my son was being recruited the coach was more concerned with can you hit your spots and can you throw any pitch regardless of the count for a strike.
If you can do that he said you will have a successful college career.

Most lefty how throw in the upper 80's are probably getting paid to do that.
