Snowball Batting Practice Begins

18+ inches of snow today. Opening day just got a lot further away. They say all the snow will make the fields nice and green when it melts. Actually it just delays the season even longer because they’re still a soggy mess when the weather gets warm enough to play in.

Time to go outside, shovel out a patch of backyard, make up a bunch of snowballs and throw some BP to my boy.

Benefits: Plenty of balls. No chasing balls down and picking them up. No need for an L-screen. Good time to throw a couple beanballs to keep him honest.

Save a bundle on batting cage rentals.

Gotta make sure I don’t inadvertently scoop up a rock in a snowball though.

We got about 10 inches here in MD. Our snow does not make good snowballs though. They fall apart right in your hands.
