we just finished our entire infield and apron...we bought the sod in humongous rolls...didn't have to worry to much about a pattern. We also used a company that injected a polymer into the soil that retains moisture since we have no water in Vegas. It is guaranteed and we only have to water once a week or they replace the sod. A golf course helped us with everything as far as planning and contacts...it worked great for us and we were on the field in 3 weeks from the day we put it down!
Yeah, we are converting from dirt to grass this year. We planted hydroseed, and it really did not take, so it is emergency time, and we will be laying it out this week.

A local nursery is donating the entire infield, so I am not sure if it will come in the normal pallets or in humongous rolls...that would be nice, but I am doubting it.
